In this week’s Stocks in the Cycle Spotlight edition, I am highlighting several major pharmaceutical companies.
This time, I’m focusing on MRK, JNJ, BMY, LLY, NVO, and PFE.
Some of these stocks may be reaching significant highs, while others seem to be approaching a significant low in price and time, or a relevant time-cycle confluence. Following a “keep-it-simple” approach, I will post one chart per equity with a short commentary.
Merck & Co. (MRK)
Merck & Co. made a low on March 6th, 2009, when the Moon was farthest from Earth (mean apogee). The next time this stock reached the same degree, 106 months later in early 2018, MRK made a low again. We are now approaching the same degree again, 106 months later, by November 14th, 2026. This time the turn may come at a high.
Another cycle of interest that appears to culminate in a high is the nearly 19-year North Node cycle, when the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic, now near the same degree as in December 2007. Based on these two cycles, we are likely near a high. A 2.618 extension of the range between the 2007 high and the March 2009 low at $161.8 is a potential price target. A close above $162 may invalidate this scenario.
