Gann Master Cycle update - Sept 8 2023
A Gann Master Cycle forecast following the DJIA, SPX, Nasdaq Composite & Nasdaq 100
Introduction
I have a great appreciation for mirror image foldback patterns.
Essentially, a mirror image foldback is a cycle pattern (in reverse) that ends up back where it started. You can confirm this by observing planetary cycles that return to the same angle. A foldback will eventually stop working, perhaps due to this reason. The chart below clearly shows how the foldback from the October lows was a fairly accurate forecast ahead.
A pattern, like the small “W” in October last year, is often a good point in time to draw a fold-back pattern. As you can see, it is just a mirror image of the past pattern. Note the similarity in the patterns of 2 years ago compared to this year. The fold-back pattern may be close to an end here.
In time, there may be some differences, but the direction will often be “OK” until the angle returns of, e.g., Mercury, Venus, and Mars. These are fast-moving planets, but it works, e.g., for the slow-moving planets Jupiter (close to 12 years, and Saturn (close to 30 years) in a similar way.
I have often shown in the past how planetary movements like planets going Retrograde(Rx) cause the return to a price level when the Rx period started. We recently finished the Venus Rx period, and now, in the shadow period, Venus is returning to its initial angle, where it started this cycle. On September 15th, 2023, Mercury will go direct again. So, looking at the short-term fold-back patterns involving Venus and Mercury this may give a hint of where the market may be heading.
