With ongoing turmoil in the world, one might think that gold would continue its bullish trend. Let’s look at gold’s long-term and short-term trends to see where we stand and where future inflection points might be. Are you bullish or bearish on gold?

Gold - Long Term Trend

Gold has been in a long-term uptrend but may have encountered resistance in both price and time at the end of January 2026, which is 49 years from the 1976 low, 5262 calendar days from the September 2011 high (on a 1x1 timing line from zero this is very close to the actual price level reached), and 90 months from the August 2018 low.

This was also on the date when Mars was at the same degree (conjunct) Pluto from a helio perspective.

Although Gold is trading at the upper 1x1 timing line, it does not mean it cannot finally break through these levels, but I expect Gold may pause now.

Gold - Shorter Term Trend

In the short term, I expect gold to trade within this nearly symmetrical triangle. Notice how gold pulled back and bounced off the Saturn planetary timing lines.

I have drawn the triangle using Saturn Helio timing lines, which indicate where Saturn might be positioned if traded at a 1x1 ratio ($100/degree), a 2x1 ratio, and a 4x1 ratio, based on relevant peaks and troughs. When price touches these lines, it signifies a balance between price and time, and trend changes or continuations often happen at these points.

Using Saturn (also known as ‘Father Time’), one can easily determine price and time targets. Note the calculations on the chart. I usually observe the crossovers of various lines drawn from the trough or peak, where inflection point may occur. These intersections serve as hotspots where price and time may align.

The intersection of the 1x1 from the top (Jan 2026) and the 2x1 from the bottom (August 2025) appears to be a significant point in time and price (mid-May 2026).

As an additional confirming indicator, you can always look for volume outbreaks. Volume usually declines throughout the consolidation phase, and is often very low before the breakout.

So far, the volume has been declining. Using a 1-bar ATR can also easily spot breakouts. For more on triangles, read Thomas Bulkowski’s Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns.

Conclusion

Time may tell when Gold will break out in a bullish or bearish stance. It can go either way in the next few months. This is my current bias on Gold for now.

Remember, cycles can contract, extend, and invert. I may be wrong, of course. Anomalies can occur, fundamentals can shift, so be cautious. I expect some significant volatility ahead.

Coffee is an important aspect of our daily lives; it is often our morning priority. In the commodity market, it has been making an interesting move. We've all experienced how the price of Coffee has skyrocketed this year in most supermarkets around the world.

Recently, I discussed my coffee futures forecast on a software platform. Here’s a repost of that similar post for all my Substack readers.

When making forecasts, I often examine recent important highs and lows to identify the main planetary aspect at which a change in trend occurred. That aspect was active at that moment and may be important going forward.

The latest low in Coffee Futures was on July 10th, just a few days from Venus conjunct Saturn Helio.

Historical Context

Can I make sense of this Venus-Saturn cycle? How is coffee as a commodity linked to the Venus-Saturn cycle?

The Venus-Saturn Helio Cycle

Having said that, just a month ago (early July), coffee started on a new Venus-Saturn Helio Cycle (July 10th, 2025), and based upon (only the prior last) cycle, it seems that Coffee may be in a repeat of the last cycle.

Don't mind the amplitude of the cycle shown in the above chart; it does not forecast prices.

In the above chart, I used only the last cycle path, as I do not want to rely too heavily on past cycle statistics, since past years in commodities may not always apply to current circumstances, such as weather, poor crops, international trade conditions, logistical barriers, and the price of oil (transport costs), among others.

I have also plotted the (horizontal) planetary lines of Venus and Saturn (in grey) in the above chart, which may indicate potential planetary support and resistance lines. Note that the 45-degree moves in Venus-Saturn (vertical lines) often occur at important points in time, where a change in trend or acceleration can take place.

Mirror-Image Foldback

In the next chart, I have used another software tool (Optuma) to view how the price in the equity often fold-back around planetary aspects in a mirror image fashion (until it ceases to function).

In the above chart, I have used the average mode of the Venus and Saturn (Helio) planetary positions for the horizontal planetary lines. On these lines, you may find support and resistance. Often, after a breakthrough of these lines, the stock or index moves to the next planetary line.

It seems that Coffee respected the return of the Venus-Saturn aspect, July 10th, 2025, (on which aspect the New York Coffee exchange changed its name in 1916).

The pattern in the above chart resembles a cup-and-saucer shape forming. Analyze the symmetry and geometry to understand why these patterns frequently develop around key planetary aspects.

Mirror Image foldbacks1 are not always perfect, but often show that investors change their minds, often but not necessarily, after a conjunction or opposition.

Based on the analysis, I expect Coffee to trade within the trading range it has maintained over the past two months, possibly along the fold-back scenario.

Eventually, a fold-back scenario will stop working, or it may even, in reverse, show the opposite move, as the waxing and waning aspect (before or after opposition) can significantly impact investor behavior. This makes these aspects very important to watch for a potential trend change.

Conclusion

In this post, I explored the relationship between coffee as a commodity and the astrological influences of the Venus-Saturn Cycle.

Key takeaways are:

Demand and supply are key, but climate, production costs, geopolitical events, and currency fluctuations also significantly influence prices. Understanding these factors is important to understanding how the price of coffee may fluctuate over time.

In my last update on Gold a month ago, I mentioned that Gold was still following the 8-year cycle. During the previous three months, Gold made three tops. A break above these tops may certainly be bullish, but if such a breakthrough fails, this could start a bearish scenario.

The history of trading gold dates back thousands of years, with evidence of gold being used as a form of currency and trade commodity in ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. Gold has been a symbol of wealth and power throughout history, and its rarity and durability have made it a valuable asset for trade and investment.

In more recent history, the establishment of the gold standard in the 19th century formalized the use of gold as the basis for monetary systems, further solidifying its importance in global trade. The London gold market emerged as a pivotal hub for gold trading, with the Bank of England playing a significant role in shaping the market's structure and operations.

The London gold market, the most important in the world prior to the First World War, was closed during World War I. After the war, the Bank of England took steps to reopen the market to maintain London's status as a financial center. They negotiated with South African mining companies to ensure that a significant portion of the world's newly mined gold would be sold in London. The Bank also worked with N.M. Rothschild & Sons to establish the gold price and reopen the market for gold.

The Bank's efforts resulted in the establishment of the London Gold Fixing on September 12, 1919, setting a single price for gold transactions at around 11:00 a.m. on that day. Rothschilds settled on a reserve price of 98 shillings and 6 pence based on the dollar-sterling exchange rate of £1 = $4.17. This process remained the foundation of the London Gold Fixing for many years to come and occurs twice daily at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Originally, the process took place face-to-face at the London offices of N. M. Rothschild & Sons, where representatives from leading bullion banks would agree on a price to buy and sell gold. In 2004, the process transitioned from telephone-based negotiations to an electronic platform, making it more efficient and accessible. Today, representatives from five prominent gold-trading institutions — Barclays, HSBC, ScotiaMocatta, Société Générale, and UBS — conduct the fixing process, setting the benchmark price for gold through this electronic platform.

During the fixing process, the representatives exchange information about their client's interests in buying and selling gold, including specific trade orders. With this information, they work to determine a price at which the supply and demand for gold are balanced, establishing the benchmark price for that moment.

The natal chart of the September 1919 gold fixing is significant because it marks the beginning of a benchmark price for gold transactions. This event established a standard that became a cornerstone of the global gold market. A process that still works today. The natal chart may provide insights into the astrological influences surrounding this pivotal moment, shedding light on the potential factors that contributed to the establishment of the gold fixing and its long-term impact on the market.

Gold is currently experiencing a strong bullish trend and is approaching an 8-year crest and nearly 12-year cycle high. In this analysis, I incorporated various astrological factors from the Gold-fix 1919 natal chart, as well as cycles, Gann timing lines, and trendlines, to provide an updated forecast for gold. In my last update, late January 2023, I forecasted a third peak by May 2023. Below you can see the chart I published for our premium subscribers.

Last time I also mentioned: “There are upcoming eclipses on April 20th and May 5th, 2023. In the past, Gold reacted heavily on these eclipses and midpoints, as you can see. The Solar eclipse of April 20th may act as a hotspot on which a crest and third peak may unfold. This could be an early peak. The lunar eclipse of May 5th could be a second attempt for a crest.” The crest was set on May 4th, 2023. So far, we have been right on the third peak to unfold at the end of the cycle(Blue circle) drawn.

As W.D. Gann taught us:

“Triple bottoms are the strongest and triple tops the strongest, but it is very important to watch an option when it reaches the same level the fourth time as it nearly always goes thru.” W.D. Gann Commodity Course

We are not at that point yet. Longer-term cycles may not be at the end of their cycle troughs. There is a seasonal tendency unfolding around July/August of each year looking at over more than 48+ years of Gold data.

The above seasonality chart generally shows that the most price action takes place between July-October High, October to November low, and November Low to January High. However, this pattern may not always work and can invert as shown in the chart.

So, let’s have a look at other longer-term cycles as well to see what a probable path may be. In this article I will also learn you how the find important support and resistance levels by using a Square of Nine chart.

As I start revisiting Wheat, it's fitting that I do so on a special day - the 6th of June, the birth date of the legendary W.D. Gann. W.D. Gann was a legendary commodity trader. This article is not just a tribute to W.D. Gann but also an expression of my greatest respect for his knowledge and a token of gratitude for the wisdom he shared in his work and whose ground-breaking work on time cycles continues to guide our understanding of commodity markets.

Whether you're an experienced investor or just interested in learning more, this article may offer valuable insights into the time cycles that W.D. Gann discovered and the complex interplay of supply and demand that shapes the wheat market.

In my December 2022 annual forecast on Wheat, as included in the Fiorente2 Stock Market Outlook 2023, I mentioned:

“Wheat is still trading below the 1x1 from crest 2022, and until this line is crossed from below, I remain bearish for the longer term. The mid-point of June 2023 is an important hotspot in price and time.”

May and June are often lows in Wheat, as you can see in the chart below based on 51 annual cycles of Wheat, but not in all years. There are years where lows are made a couple of months later.

As we are in the middle of this seasonal period where often seasonal lows are made, it is time to revisit the yearly forecast for Wheat.

As W.D. Gann mentioned in his Commodity course:

“Time is the most important factor in determining market movements because the future is a repetition of the past, and each market movement is working out time in relation to some previous time cycle.”

“A study of the various time periods and cycles will convince you how the grain market repeats the same price levels under the same time periods of some previous cycle.” W.D. Gann Commodity course

Remembering W.D. Gann’s words, it is worth revisiting the major time cycles for Wheat, to see where Wheat is trading relative to these cycles, what the probabilities are a low may have been set in Wheat, and how this may play out in Wheat in the future. Today’s updated post is on Natural Gas. We discussed Natural Gas in the January 23rd post, in which I concluded:

“Natural Gas may have reached its target, but time may not be over yet. Time is more important than price. From a timing aspect, considering the foldback aspect of the Venus return of April 5th, 2023, and the Solar Eclipse of April 20th, 2023, these dates may be a probable low at around $3.30. Introduction

This morning I was researching the Baltic Dry Index (BDI), and I was one of many in the world looking at this index simultaneously. I saw a tweet from Inside the Candle, and Sergey Tarassov, Owner and developer of Timing Solutions software, was also looking into this index. So, I decided to publish my analysis you can read below.

What is the Baltic Dry Index (BDI)

The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) measures the cost of transporting raw materials such as coal, iron ore, and grain by sea. It is published daily by the London-based Baltic Exchange and reflects the cost of shipping goods from one port to another. The BDI is considered an important economic indicator because it reflects the demand for shipping capacity and the supply of ships available to meet that demand.

It is an interesting index as the cost of shipping raw goods can reflect the state of the global economy. Worldwide limited ships are available to transport goods, so when the economy is good, the demand for goods will rise, the cost of shipping will increase, and vice versa. A rise in the index suggests an increase in the demand for goods relative to the supply of ships available. A fall in the BDI is seen as a sign of decreased demand for goods and raw materials, which often signals an economic slowdown.

However, it's important to note that the BDI is not a perfect indicator of the state of the global economy. It is a specific measure of the cost of shipping dry goods and does not reflect the price of shipping other types of goods or services. Additionally, the BDI can be influenced by factors such as weather conditions, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain disruptions, which can impact the supply of ships and the cost of shipping goods.

Stock Market Correlation

The chart below shows a small correlation between the Baltic Dry Index with the overall Stock Market (DJIA in this example).

In general, a rising BDI is seen as a positive sign for the stock market, as it suggests an increase in global economic activity and demand for goods, which can lead to higher corporate profits and stock prices. On the contrary, a falling BDI is seen as a negative sign for the stock market, as it indicates a slowdown in global economic activity and reduced demand for goods. This can lead to lower corporate profits and stock prices.

The chart analysis shows that the DJIA lags behind the Baltic Dry Index. In addition, before the COVID crash in February-March 2020, the BDI was already declining to the low of March 23, 2020, but there may be other reasons for it than an economic slowdown. Worldwide there was an oversupply of new ships coming from the wharves in 2020, and the COVID period was also a standstill for some time in the global supply chain.

So, it's important to note that the BDI is just one factor among many that can impact stock market performance, and it should not be relied upon as the sole indicator of future stock market performance. Other factors, such as interest rates, geopolitical tensions, supply chain issues, and company-specific news, can also significantly impact the stock market.

In conclusion, the Baltic Dry Index can provide some insight into the state of the global economy and future economic trends. Still, there may be better forecast indicators for future stock market performance. It is just one of many factors that can impact the stock market and should be considered in conjunction with other indicators and market analysis.1

Introduction

Gold has been the talk of the Twitter community in the past few weeks. You can find many forecasts to predict a bright future in Gold investments. I am not so sure for now. There is an 8-year cycle that still has some time left to unfold further. I may be wrong. But then, I see a pattern of a third peak arising that does not make me feel comfortable. As. W.D. Gann mentioned in his Stock Market Course:

“This formation occurs when a stock or the averages make 3 tops near the same level or the 2nd, and 3rd tops are slightly lower. When these formations are made at tops after a long advance, they are signals for a major decline. The more time between tops, the stronger the indications for a big decline.” W.D. Gann Stock Market Course

This guiding rule also applies to commodities.

Of course, he also mentioned in his Commodity Course:

“Triple bottoms are the strongest and triple tops the strongest, but it is very important to watch an option when it reaches the same level the fourth time as it nearly always goes thru.” W.D. Gann Commodity Course

If the latter happens, that may create a “Three Peaks and a Domed House” pattern in the longer term.

We are not at that point yet. However, this pattern may fit my thesis that we first have to set an 8-year cycle low in Gold.

Today’s updated post is on Natural Gas and Crude Oil. Here on Substack and in the Fiorente2 Stock Market Outlook 2022 and 2023, I have published an analysis on Crude oil but not on Natural Gas. In today’s post, I provide an (updated) analysis of both energy sources.

In October 2021, I had to renew my energy contract with a local supplier in my country. Up to that date, I had a 1-year energy price guarantee cap for gas and electricity, and I needed to decide what to do. At that time, my contract was based on a crude oil price of $50 and Natural Gas at $2.25. As my analysis showed that Crude Oil and Natural Gas were likely to explode further, I extended my contract at a fixed price for three years. That was a good decision; I did not regret it. Many neighbors and friends have doubled, tripled, or paid more than that for their energy bills.

Even when prices have cooled down somewhat, you cannot get a contract for a fixed price anymore in my country, and consumer prices on energy bills always follow the commodity prices by at least six months.

So, doing a cycle analysis on Natural Gas and Crude Oil pays off.

The cause of all this may be the COVID period, with lesser demand for Crude Oil in that period. Only a few months after the World Economy was reopening, the Russian-Ukraine war disrupted the global supply of crude oil. With a lesser supply from Russia from Crude Oil and Natural Gas drove the prices to a peak in 2022. Since then, prices had stabilized but remained higher than before the War started.

So far, our analysis published in the Stock Market Outlook 2023 on Crude Oil followed our forecast until the end of this month (January 2023). This is around the midpoint of the Solar and Lunar eclipses. This point in time is sometimes regarded as a secret by many Gann analysts, but often you see the stock, index, or commodity react heavily during this period. This may even activate an inversion for some time.

It can be tough to trade in these commodities as many variables influence the demand and supply and their effect on the price. However, from the fluctuations in the price of Natural Gas and Oil, one could extract the natural cycles in these energy sources that repeatedly repeat, which can give clues about where these markets are heading. In this post I have used several methods that W.D. Gann could have used.

The longer term trend in Gold as discussed in our Fiorente2 Stock Market Outlook 2022 - Third Edition is still intact. As I wrote in May 2022: “I am still weary for a foldback to occur like in 2011-2012 when we had the first top around $2000.“

In the last few weeks Gold has entered a price level that connects with a long term and all time low in Gold. Many times already this line from the 1999 low has been respected. I am not sure it will be respected this time. Bulls and Bears are currently struggling with this line.

On the Square of Nine Gold is close to 180 Solar degrees from top and the current price level(at the time of writing $1694.50) is on the ordinal cross of 169(0) as you can see in below chart on the Square of Nine (Red arrow). 169 is the natural square of 13. This might be an interesting point of support.

We are currently trading 138 bars (Harmonic of Fibonacci 38.2) from top March 8th 2022. A rebound may be expected in which is possible still a longer term downtrend. Looking at the Square of Nine and the cycles in Gold, Gold may not have seen its lowest point yet.

We have just updated our March 2022 analysis on Wheat. This post is for educational and learning purposes only as to show you how W.D. Gann looked at major and minor cycles in making his forecasts.

Back in March 2022 I wrote: …I expect we will see a probable high in Wheat from August 2022 towards January to February 2023 and give or take a couple of months this could be extended from April/May 2022 - August 2023.

Much has happened since our last analysis from March 2022 and the Wheat high came in a bit earlier than expected as the war in Ukraine gave a sudden surge in price. There seemed to be an inversion which gave a high a surge in price in May 2022 again. Recently in July/August 2022 Wheat seems to have found a bottom for now and currently in rebound.

I believe W.D. Gann’s 90 year cycle may have repeated in 2022 again, similar to 1932 and 1842 (also opposite to the Stock Market Indices in those years as like in this year).

As W.D. Gann mentioned in his Master Commodity Course:

“When we start from Sunrise or the Horizon and measure to Noon, we get an arc of 90 degrees, which is straight up and down staring from the bottom. 90 months or 90 years is a very important time period. The 90-year Time Cycle is one of the very important ones because it is two times 45. This time period must always be watched at the end of long time periods. For example: 1932 was 90 years from 1842. Study the wheat around this time. 1850 and 1851 add 90 years and we get 1940-41. Note low prices of around that time.”

However, there are other cycles in play and this was not the only cycle he followed on Wheat. He also mentioned: 82 to 84 years, 60 years, 45 years, 30 years, and 20 years. The Minor Time Cycles he mentioned are: 13 years, 10 years, 7 years, 5 years, 3 years 2 years and one year.

In below Master 12 chart you can see for a long time there was a dominant cycle that set tops and bottoms almost like clock work. It may be a 11/12 year cycle possible related to Jupiter.

In the above chart you can see that half way (6-7 year) there was usually a bottom(red) and on the top of this Master 12 chart it was usually associated with a top(green).

This Master 12 Chart that W.D. Gann taught gave a quick yearly overview on where you could expect future tops and bottoms. From 1980 I see the cycle inverted and the market became more complex. I had to correct the square of twelve that Billy Jones mentioned in his Technical Review of 1984 (e.g. bottom 1979 = actually bottom 1977). Not sure what the cause is, but the date (1980) seems to suggest that climate change may be a reason.

Clearly the weather around the world has changed in the last 40 years. There are may be other factors that can play a role, such as the increased use of fertilizers and the development of disease- resistant wheat varieties that causes for better yields.

Factors like geo-politics : such as currently the war in Ukraine and export bans, and the more extreme weather conditions have certainly played a role in the supply and demand of wheat and thus have influenced the price for Wheat to be paid. Currently the price has settled down In July/August 2022 somewhat from the recent March/May 2022 highs.

So, it can sometimes be a challenge to make a projection on Wheat on the very short term. So, be careful not to conclude cycles have turned to soon, but also look into the volumes of supply and demand and other constraints that may affect price. So, be careful out there, cycles can contract, extend and invert from time to time. So, no advice. Trading futures is a high risk business and should be left to experts in the field.

In our Fiorente2 Stock Market Outlook - third edition, of which many of our Substack premium subscribers were able to obtain at a discounted price, we already foresaw a downtrend coming to GOLD, whereas most experts and on social media bloggers were expecting a further run upwards (like I did in my substack post of March 2022). With new data coming to the surface the forecast was changed end of April 2022 and I wrote:

“Gold seems to continue on its path laid down by the log trend line. I am still weary for a foldback to occur like in 2011-2012 when we had the first top around $2000. This might take some time as the foldback suggests into late 2023 on a 8 year cycle. Gold continued on its downward trend, as the foldback suggested but is now close to an intermediate change in trend as the above foldback suggested.

The world is in turmoil, stock markets are declining, commodities go through the roof. This will all have effect on our daily lives as inflation is likely to linger on for some time. If this continues for a prolonged period of time our daily expenditures will eventually become more costly on nearly all consumer products due to the increase in prices in commodities .

In Europe we are already paying the price for it due to increase in natural gas prices prior to the start of this winter and at the pump we see extreme price per gallon which are never seen before.

An extreme surge also took place in wheat which was already ongoing for some time. Russia and Ukraine dominate 25% of World export market on various grains. I am sure Russia is not likely to export their grains to Western countries, and I do not think Western countries will will buy Russia’s grains in the foreseeable future. This will have an effect on the price of wheat and other grains. See my earlier post on this today.

Why do we study wheat? As W.D. Gann mentions the extreme prices on wheat is very much associated with the Great Time Cycle: the 90 year cycle. This explains the current surge in wheat and probably declines in the stock market as well.

As W.D. Gann mentioned in his Master Commodity Course:

“When we start from Sunrise or the Horizon and measure to Noon, we get an arc of 90 degrees, which is straight up and down staring from the bottom. 90 months or 90 years is a very important time period. The 90-year Time Cycle is one of the very important ones because it is two times 45. This time period must always be watched at the end of long time periods. For example: 1932 was 90 years from 1842. Study the wheat around this time. 1850 and 1851 add 90 years and we get 1940-41. Note low prices of around that time.”

Also note that the US Stock Market Indices around the same time were opposite the Wheat prices, so extreme lows were recorded in 1842 an 1932 for the US Stock Market Indices. This is the importance in following commodities and in particular Wheat. Wheat has been important for human mankind for ages.

The recent top in August 2020 was a very significant top from a cyclical point of view. After this crest I expected a 2 -5 years correction like in 2011-2015 would take place first before $Gold heads into higher highs again. Recently $Gold has founded support on old resistance in the middle of the main uptrend as seen in the chart below.

There is quite some resistance ahead of us, but if the tensions in the world keep on lingering this could add to a thesis we will see $Gold creeping op to a high around end of February-early March 2022, or even into August 2022 (or even later). This could create a double top (or even slightly higher), and if it does it will probably an Elliott Wave 5 of some degree. After which a 2-5 years correction will probably set in definitely for a longer term.

We will have to watch the chart in front of us what will actually happen. Anomalies can occur and cycles can contract/extend or invert. No advice.
